Re: Ratification of the Approval by the Chief Justice of the Conversion of the Shari’a Law and Jurisprudence Committee to a “Department of Shari’a and Islamic Jurisprudence”.- The Court Resolved, upon the recommendation of the PHILJA Board of Trustees in its Resolution No. 05-09, to APPROVE the

(a) Conversion of the Shari’a Law and Jurisprudence Committee to a “Department of Shari’a and Islamic Jurisprudence,” with the following composition:

Chairman: Justice Jainal D. Rasul (ret.)

Members: Justice Japar B. Dimaampao

Justice Hakim S. Abdulwahid

Justice Omar U. Amin (ret.)

Prof. Michael O. Mastura

Judge Corocoy D. Moson (ret.)

Resource Persons: Justice Jose C Vitug

Justice Alicia V. Sempio-Diy (ret.)

Dean Pacifico A. Agabin; and

(b) Grant of expense allowances for the three (3) meetings held by the former Shari’a Committee.” (adv109)
