REQUEST FOR DESIGNATION OF ADDITIONAL DRUG COURTS IN QUEZON CITY
Gentlemen:
Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated FEB 8 2005.
The Court Resolved to NOTE the Letter dated 3 February 2005 of Executive Judge Natividad A. Giron-Dizon, RTC, Quezon City, submitting her recommendation with the recent appointment of nine (9) new judges to the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, viz:
(a) Designation of only one more drugs court, considering the waning number of cases involving violations of the comprehensive dangerous drugs law (Republic No. 9165) that are filed with the courts, particularly, RTC, Branch 78, - Hon. Fernando T. Sagun, Jr., Presiding Judge, considering that the pairing branch, Branch 79, is presently designated as a dangerous drugs court; and
(b) Designation of two (2) more branches as family courts in view of the heavy volume of family courts cases being filed with the courts, particularly, (i) RTC, Branch 102 – Hon. Ma. Lourdes A. Giron, Presiding Judge, and (ii) RTC, Branch 225 – Hon. Maria Elisa Sempio-Dy, Presiding Judge.
The court further Resolved to REFER the aforesaid letter of Executive Judge Giron-Dizon to the OFFICE OF THE COURT ADMINISTRATOR, for evaluation, report and recommendation thereon, within ten (10) days from notice hereof.
Very truly yours,
LUZVIMINDA D. PUNO
