Quoted hereunder, for your information, is a resolution of this Court dated NOV 8 2005.

G.R. No. 157551 (People of the Philippines vs. Joseph Ballon @ "Jeff".)

It appearing from the records that Atty. Segundo E. Mangohig, counsel for appellant, failed to comply with the show cause resolution of 24 August 2004 within the period fixed therein which expired on 28 March 2005, the Court Resolved to (a) IMPOSE upon the said counsel an additional fine of P1,000.00 which, together with the original fine of P1,000.00, shall be paid to this Court within ten (10) days from notice hereof, or a penalty of imprisonment of five (5) days if the said fines are not paid within the said period and (b) ORDER the said counsel to COMPLY with the resolution of 24 August 2004 by filing the required brief also within ten (10) days from notice hereof, with a WARNING that should he still fail to do so and to pay the fines, he shall be ordered arrested and detained by the National Bureau of Investigation until he shall have made the compliance or until such time as the Court may order.

The Court further Resolved that a copy of this resolution be attached to the records of Atty. Segundo E. Mangohig in the Office of the Bar Confidant.

The Certification dated 22 September 2005 of Ms. Araceli C. Bayuga, Cashier, Disbursement and Collection Division, this Court, is NOTED.
