THE
SUPREME COURT has appointed Assistant Court Administrator
Reuben P. De La Cruz as the new Deputy Court Administrator
(DCA).
The DCA post was vacated
by now Court Administrator Christopher O. Lock last
May.
The 62-year old De La
Cruz, a native of Cagayan, started his government
career in 1978 as an agent of the National Bureau
of Investigation. He was appointed Presiding Judge
of the Lallo, Cagayan Municipal Trial Court in 1984.
He then joined the Department of Labor and Employment,
first, as a Labor Arbiter at the National Labor Relations
Commission, then as Director III. He served as Regional
Public Attorney before he was appointed Marikina City
Regional Trial Court judge in 1994. He was Marikina
RTC Executive Judge when he was appointed ACA on January
3, 2005.
He received his Bachelor
of Arts and Law degrees from the University of the
Santo Tomas. He is married to the former Minerva Aguila,
a nurse, with whom he has two children, Jhoanne Reuby
and Donna Cher.
